The Academy of Science and Technology @ St. James Collegiate provides a strong, multi-faceted program to meet diverse student needs. We are proud of our programming in technology, science, arts, athletics, vocational and business education, and Advanced Placement. As a Unesco school we take seriously the values of peace, social justice, global citizenship and mindful action. A very dedicated caring staff and supportive parents work together to ensure that our students are given, the opportunity to explore a wide range of curricula, develop multiple skills, and focus on their goals and aspirations in a safe and secure environment.

Our mission at St. James Collegiate is to provide students with practical, academic, and citizenship skills to succeed with creativity, compassion, and knowledge in the global community.
At St. James we strive to develop students who are open-minded, respectful, hard-working, caring and knowledgeable. In order to achieve our vision we value the pursuit of individual excellence. Events and Dates to Remember:
(on Tuesdays we start classes at 9am -- with the exception of January and June)
June 29 - NO SCHOOL

August 20 - School Office Reopens
August 20 - Sept. 4 - Final (official) timetables can be picked up with payment of $25 student fee, $35 for yearbook. All students will need to pay the $25 student fees in order to get an official timetable.
They will need this official timetable to be allowed into class.
Sept. 2 - The only day prior to school start up when timetable changes can be made. Appointments can be pre-scheduled for this day.
Sept. 8 - Inservice/NO SCHOOL
Sept. 9 - First day of the new school year! Only grade 9 and students new to the school are to attend in the morning in the band room at 9:30 a.m. A welcome back BBQ will be held from 11:15 a.m.
to 1:00 p.m. All students attend in the afternoon.
Sept. 10 - Regular school day. Classes start at 8:30 a.m.
Sept. 18 - Last day for timetable changes.
Sept. 22 - Early Dismissal @ 2:40 p.m.
Sept. 25 - School Picture Day (retakes Nov. 5)
Sept. 28 - Parent Advisory Meeting at 6:30 pm in Room 100
Oct. 2 - Grade 9 Mid-Nighter (4:00 p.m. to midnight). Grade 9 students spend the evening at the school having fun and learning the culture of the school.
Oct. 6 - Early Dismissal @ 2:40 p.m.
Oct. 8 - Fall Awards 7:00 p.m. in SJCI Gym
Oct. 12 - Thanksgiving/NO SCHOOL
Oct. 20 - Early Dismissal @ 2:40 p.m.
Oct. 23 - Inservice/NO SCHOOL

Stop A Bully is a national non-profit organization and Canada-wide anti-bullying program which allows any student who is a victim or witness of severe bullying to be able to safely report the details to school administration without risk of becoming a target themselves. Reporting is completely safe and anonymous. The identity of the reporter is not given to the administration unless the reporter wishes to do so. In order to submit a report click on the logo.
